ATIBT

With 64 years' technical experience in the tropical timber sector, the Association Technique Internationale des Bois Tropicaux (ATIBT) was founded in 1951 at the request of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) to reorganize the tropical timber trade, while improving tropical forestry. It has become a privileged interlocutor of the various professions in the sector, of public authorities in Europe, and of African governments, playing a driving role in the implementation of international programs linked to the sustainable management of tropical forests and the development of a responsible industry. Today, the Association is a platform for exchange, dialogue and progress, aiming to develop the marketing of forest products, the legality of trade on markets and market diversification.
