What is France Bois Forêt and what is its role in the forestry and wood industry?
The Interprofession nationale de la filière Forêt-Bois was created on December 8, 2004, under the aegis of the French Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. Since then, France Bois Forêt has co-financed collective actions to promote, communicate and enhance the value of the French forest, particularly through the various uses of wood. It acts alongside industry professionals and thanks to the CVO Obligatory Interprofessional Contribution. France Bois Forêt reflects a responsible industry that manages its forests and raw materials sustainably, while meeting the challenges of today and tomorrow.
What is CODIFAB?
The Comité professionnel de Développement des Industries Françaises de l'Ameublement et du Bois (Professional Committee for the Development of the French Furniture and Wood Industries) is tasked with leading and financing collective actions that member companies would not be able to carry out individually. The furniture and wood industries include companies that produce material goods through the transformation and application of materials, i.e. 4,200 SMEs and over 15,000 craftsmen, represented within CODIFAB by representative trade organizations. The aim of these public-interest initiatives is to support, strengthen and develop furniture and wood businesses, in line with the strategic priorities defined every 4 years in the performance contract signed with the French government.
