France is Europe's leading producer of Douglas fir. A renewable material with excellent natural durability and mechanical performance properties, Douglas fir is used in a wide range of applications: structural applications, cladding, exterior fittings, renovation of old buildings and interior decoration... It is proving to be one of the most promising construction products of the coming decades. France Douglas was created in 1993, on the initiative of professional leaders from the main producing regions, with the aim of promoting Douglas fir with the necessary consistency. The association carries out all research, standard-setting and regulatory monitoring, communication and promotional activities required to develop a sector of excellence, with a view to enhancing the value of the national resource.
